Welcome to 4th Grade Band in Peters Township School District! Fourth grade students at McMurray Elementary have the opportunity to study a band instrument with expert guidance from the Peters Township music faculty.

The 4th Grade Band curriculum begins with students learning about the basic characteristics of each band instrument so that they may make an educated decision about which instrument to study.

After choosing an instrument to study, most students rent an instrument from a local music store.

Each student is scheduled for a weekly, group lesson.

It is recommended that students practice a minimum of 15 minutes per day on 4 days per week. Students should record their practice in the practice journal included with the method book.

All 4th grade band students participate together in a Spring concert at McMurray Elementary.
